Pupil Premium
The pupil premium is additional funding for publicly funded schools in England to raise the attainment of disadvantaged pupils and close the gap between them and their peers.
Pupil premium funding is available to: local authority maintained schools, including special schools, academies and pupil referral units (PRUs).
Nunthorpe Academy receives Pupil Premium funding from the government each year. As a school we are totally committed to raising the aspirations and standards of achievement of all students and there are a number of ways in which we are striving to close gaps in achievement.
You can view our Pupil Premium Strategy Statement on our Policies page using the button below.
Free School Meals
At Nunthorpe Academy, we believe that every student should have access to nutritious, balanced meals, regardless of their financial situation. Our Free School Meals program ensures that eligible students receive a free, delicious, and healthy lunch every school day.
Nunthorpe Academy operates a cashless system which means that at the till all students feel the same. Your child may be eligible to receive free school meals if you are entitled to receive one of the following:
- Income Support (IS);
- Income based Jobseeker’s Allowance (IBJSA);
- An Income-related Employment and Support Allowance (ESA(IR));
- Support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999;
- Child Tax Credit (provided that you are not entitled to Working Tax Credit and have an annual income, assessed by HM Revenue and Customs, that from 6 April 2009 does not exceed £16,190).
If you believe that you may be eligible to receive this, further information can be found here: Free School Meals – do you qualify?
